Post-Secondary Monitoring

This service supports you as you complete post-secondary courses through distance education or online learning. You will be given a dedicated workspace and access to computers, scanners, photocopiers and fax machines to help you complete and submit your assignments. Instructors are available to provide guidance when needed. Students are given 10 hours a week where they can concentrate on their studies with support available and no distractions. 

Academic / Essential Skills

Upgrading Taught by TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certified instructors, this program includes detailed lesson plans that correspond with your strengths and current level of performance. Standardized tests are used throughout the program to monitor your progress and identify areas that need improvement. Practical exercises and assignments are also used to encourage your advancement from week to week.

GED Preparation

This course helps prepare you for the General Education Development (GED) test, which allows adults who have not completed high school to demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills that comparable to high school graduates. Students will obtain an Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate after successfully passing the GED Test. Our certified instructors provide specialized instruction in math, reading, science and social studies and give practice tests to reduce your anxiety and familiarize you with the type of questions that may be asked on your GED exam.

College Preparation

With instructors who are TESL and MOS certified, you will develop the skills needed to transition smoothly into college or university. Practical exercises and independent assignments will help strengthen your time management, essay and report writing, studying, teamwork and exam-taking abilities to fully prepare you for a successful post-secondary experience.
